On, the 16th of November, 2024, our group of 17 embarked on an intoxicating hike to Lauke Jharana, an ethereal waterfall lied at the beauty peak of Nuwakot. The hike to the waterfall was an exhilarating journey through nature's untouched beauty. The purpose of the hike was to promote physical well- being, new batch bonding, and appreciation of nature.

The day began early as the group assembled at Deerwalk Institute of Technology at 6:55 AM, ready with their enthusiastic spirit. After a few warmups and briefing by the hike coordinator, we set o 7:15AM. We boarded the bus with an air of excitement for an adventure in the heart of nature. The bus carried our aspirations as we set out toward the hike point nestled in the hills. With a km away from our starting point, at 9:00 AM, we had our breakfast at Gurung Gau and then headed towards our journey which began at 9:45 AM.

After approximately 45 minutes, the trail began to narrow, leading us into a more rugged section. The pathway turned rocky, with portions of the path ascending steeply which demanded greater focus, as certain areas were slightly slippery due to the morning dew. By 10:30, the group had reached a clearing, where we paused to enjoy the sunrise, take photographs and play inbuilt traditional swings for a while.

The sound of rushing water greeted us as we neared our destination. By 11:30 AM, the group arrived at the Lauke Jharana. After a moment to take in the beauty, we gathered for group photos and explored the surroundings. At 1:00 PM, we reached at the Simle village and had tons of appetizing oranges and sugarcanes.

The return hike began at 1:30 PM, with the group following the same trail back. While returning, the group initiated in cleaning up nearly 5km of the trail surrounding by picking up all the litter thrown here and there. The descent was faster, though care was taken on the rocky sections. By 2:15 PM, we reached a halfway point where we rested briefly before continuing. The group arrived back at the starting location by 3:00 PM, tired but delighted by the experience.

Followed by our tiredness and hungriness, we headed over to the Lete Thakali, located at Naxal for a scrumptious Thakali food set and reached there at around 4:00 PM. After enjoying the meal and tons of gossiping, we headed back to the college at around 5:15 PM. In a nutshell, it was agreed that the hike was a successful blend of adventure, relaxation, and Teamwork.
