On May 17th, the Product team at Deerhold traded their desks for a day in nature with a refreshing hike to the scenic Fung Fung Jharana. The morning began early, with team members arriving at the Deerhold complex by 7 AM. By 8 AM, after everyone had gathered, the team set off, stopping for a warm breakfast at Nitish Bakery in Gongabu. The roads were a bit challenging due to ongoing construction and mud from the previous night's rain, but the group's enthusiasm remained high throughout the drive.
At 10:30 AM, the team reached Kakani Bus Park, the starting point of the hike. The trail led mostly downhill through peaceful forest paths and ended with a descent down stone steps that opened up to the beautiful waterfall. Despite one muddy stream flowing into the pool due to recent rain, the main waterfall remained clean and inviting. Some team members embraced the moment by stepping under the cold, clear water, while others took photos and enjoyed the tranquil atmosphere.
Around 12:45 PM, after spending quality time at the falls, the team began the climb back up. They paused after the stairs for refreshments, then continued their trek until they reached the bus at 2 PM. The next stop was a local restaurant where a trout fish lunch was served. Over plates of delicious food, everyone shared stories from the hike and enjoyed lively conversations. This time together helped strengthen bonds within the team, especially with new interns who joined the fun with ease.
The journey back had a small hiccup when another vehicle got stuck in the muddy road, causing a delay. Instead of letting it dampen the mood, the team played music, danced, and turned the wait into another memorable moment. By 5 PM, everyone was back at Deerhold, tired but smiling, with memories of a day well spent in nature and in great company.
This hike was a chance to recharge, connect, and return as a stronger, more connected team.
