Dibyamshu Shrestha On 20th of August, five of us gathered in office premises at 8 in the morning for our hike from Muhan Pokhari to Sundarijal. The hiking was organized by the office for its newly recruited staff. The office van was supposed to drop us at Muhan Pokhari, but due to ongoing construction in the Budhanilkanta – Muhan Pokhari road, the vehicle dropped us somewhere mid-way. After walking about 15 minutes uphill we reached Muhan Pokhari were we had light breakfast.
The meal was definitely worth the wait after whole day of walking and hunger.
We then bought tickets to enter the Shivapuri National Park and inquired about the upcoming hiking trail with the Military on duty at the Shivapuri National Park entrance. As the hike was of beginner level, all of us were relaxed and were enjoying. In little more than an hour we reached Nagigumba. The trial after Gumba was relatively easy. It began with gentle road for about one and half hour. We got to see beautiful view of Kathmandu valley. After going through another check point, the trial was downhill. In about two hours we reached Sundarijal. While waiting for our pick-up, we toured Sundarijal. Once our van arrived we drove to Sinamangal where we had our Lunch/Dinner at Thakali Restaurant. The meal was definitely worth the wait after whole day of walking and hunger.

After reaching Muhan Pokhari, we had a light breakfast. After breakfast, we bought 5 tickets to enter the Shivapuri National Park. After entering the national park, at first we picked a wrong way to Sundarijal. After 10 minutes walk in wrong way, we opened the GPS locator and found out we were in wrong way. And returned back to the point where we missed our way and continued our hike.
With beautiful sight of Kathmandu valley and cool air we reached another army checkpoint.
