Nabina Khadka 3rd of Jan was a fun day. We, DWIT family members, had our day beautifully carved in Champadevi temple. The hike to Champadevi was an unforgettable experience. We all gathered at Purano Bus-park at 7 in the morning and left for our destination, Taudaha. We caught a bus and travelled to Taudaha. Our journey then began. We were 11 in number, united as one team. The journey was full of laughter and fun. Up the hills, we could feel our heavy breaths, but the beautiful scenarios made us relaxed. The inside jokes and family environment were the key points for such a memorable journey. We also took some small breaks on our way, had chit chats and took lots of photographs.
The journey was tiring for no doubt, but we walked even when our legs said no. This hill to that and then again to another, we cared more about our moments rather than our destination.
The journey was tiring for no doubt, but we walked even when our legs said no. This hill to that and then again to another, we cared more about our moments rather than our destination. We ended our climbing at around 1 o’clock. The time was then to climb down those hills. Exhausted and tired, we made our way down from Chhap dada. The way down took us about an hour or more and we reached to Macchegaun. We then took a micro-van to Ratnapark. Finally, we had our lunch at a hotel and returned to our home. The day was memorable and it made our DWIT family feel closer to one another and strengthened our bond.
Shankar Koirala In the past four years in Deerwalk Institute of Technology, I have hiked to many places with different students, friends, teachers, but this was the first time I was hiking with the freshmen students from the batch of 2019. The hike from Taudaha to Champadevi was organized by the DWIT Hiking Club. The hike was coordinated by Arika Joshi and Kriston pal. On 3rd January 2016, eleven students gathered at Purano Buspark from where we started our journey. Since college could not provide transportation facility due to fuel shortage, we all took bus from Purano Buspark to Taudaha. We all got off the bus at Taudaha and started hiking. Everyone was excited to get at the top of the hill. We all slowly started to walk to reach the destination which was at the top of the hill. Though most of the hikers were from freshmen year, they were so friendly, funny and helpful throughout the hiking. The way was too slope and there were too many stairs. The destination was too far than we had expected; sometimes, we thought that we had missed the trail. The tail was through the forest so there were only few villagers walking. After walking more than three hours, we were tired and hungry, so we took some rest and had some snickers and snacks. The trail was very beautiful; we could see the beautiful scenery and entire Kathmandu Valley from the top of the hill. After five hours of walking, we reached the destination (Champadevi Temple). The scenes from the top of the hill were really beautiful. After some rest, we started to get down the hill.
I was really good at scaring people in hiking, so I was able to scare some hikers and it was a real fun!
I was really good at scaring people in hiking, so I was able to scare some hikers and it was a real fun! From Champadevi, we had planned to reach Dakshinkali, but the route was too long, so we decided to move to Thankot. So after a few hours of walk, we reached to the place called Satungal and took a Micro to RatnaPark. After that, we had a delicious dinner and headed towards home.
