Last Friday, we went on a hiking trip to Raniban. Our coordinators were our class teacher Deewakar Sir and our math teacher Sila Adhikari Ma’am. Raniban is a jungle area surrounding Phewa Lake. We left the school at 10:30 AM and reached Raniban by bus at around 10:45.
After getting off the bus, we crossed a bridge and started walking towards stone stairs. At first, we walked carefully. When we reached the top, we saw some hand gliders and people on it, so we all shouted happily, “Hi! Hi! Hello” Then we continued walking carefully through the jungle. We saw many different kinds of trees such as Bell, raspberry, Chilaune, and many others.
As we went a little higher, we saw a very beautiful view of the Pokhara Valley. We walked slowly. Grade Four students walked behind Deewakar Sir, and Grade Five students walked in front of Shila Ma’am. We took some photos and continued our walk. Along the way, we saw Chestnut trees, Kamal trees, and many different kinds of mushrooms.
When we looked ahead, we could see the beautiful mountain. Our Deewakar Sir told us the names of the mountains. According to him the mountains we saw were Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, etc. We also saw boards with the names of hills and caves written on them. We saw plants like tobacco plants, nagbeli plants, broom plants, and bel patra. The stairs were very difficult, and we had a hard time walking.
After walking for about one hour, we sat at a place near the lake. We ate our snacks and shared them with each other. After that, we took a group photo and started walking again. After a few hours, we saw the stupa, but we were very tired. Everyone was saying that they had no energy left.
After some time, we finally reached the top. It was an amazing feeling, and everyone was very happy. Then we started walking down. After a few minutes, we reached the bus parking area. The bus driver came, and we got on the bus. Everyone was tired, so nobody shouted or sang on the bus.
After about 30 minutes, we reached the school on time. When the security guard opened the gate, we all shouted happily and went to our classrooms. We rested for some time because we were very tired. We had Momo as our snack. Only one period was left. Our teachers were also tired because they had gone hiking with Grade Two students to Kahu Dada. Therefore, we rested instead of studying.
It was a very tiring but enjoyable day. Thank you.
