On Sunday at 7:30 AM, we gathered at the Deerhold premises, filled with excitement for a much-anticipated hiking adventure. Before heading to the trailhead, the group enjoyed a quick breakfast, buzzing with enthusiasm for the journey ahead. Our backpacks were filled with apples, oranges, and water to fuel our hike. The weather was warm and sunny—perfect for a crisp mid-winter day.
After a 45-minute drive from Sifal, we arrived at Machchegaun, the starting point of our hike. Without much delay, we began our ascent, stepping onto a peaceful trail surrounded by greenery and fresh air. The route promised both the challenge of an uphill climb and the beauty of a valley view framed by mountain ranges.
Some hikers, familiar with the trail from previous adventures, moved ahead at a faster pace, while others opted for a more relaxed rhythm, soaking in the breathtaking views and enjoying conversations along the way.
We reached Chaap Bhanjyang at 11:20 AM, taking a well-deserved break as we marveled at the mountain ranges and spotted birds through binoculars. We savored fresh oranges, apples, and snacks while chatting with friendly locals, fully appreciating the peaceful atmosphere.
After an hour of hiking, we arrived at Chakhel Deurali, where we took a short rest before tackling the final stretch to the summit. Everyone captured a memorable "With Me" photo with Rudra Dai, adding a personal touch to our adventure.
Finally, we reached the top of Chandragiri Hill around 2:00 PM. The panoramic views of the mountains, coupled with the cool breeze and sense of accomplishment, created a fulfilling moment for the entire group. While most of us rested, took photos, and enjoyed the atmosphere, Kushma and Sophie added an extra thrill by trying the zipline, making their experience even more memorable before we prepared for our descent.
Eager to refuel after the hike, we descended from the cable car and hopped into the van, heading back to 109 Degrees, where a delicious meal awaited as a well-deserved treat for all the hikers.
In summary, the trip provided good exercise, refreshing nature, meaningful conversations, and the joy of spending time with great company, offering a wonderful escape from the dust and pollution of city life.
