On May 24th, participants from Deerhold embarked on an unforgettable hiking adventure through the scenic trails of Shivapuri Nagarjuna National Park, journeying from Budhanilkantha to Sundarijal. The hike offered not only a physical challenge but also a meaningful opportunity for connection, exploration, and shared experiences amidst nature’s beauty.
The day began early at 7:00 a.m. with the team gathering at 109 Degrees for breakfast. Everyone arrived full of energy and excitement, and the casual conversations over food quickly created a warm and welcoming atmosphere. For many, including first-time participants, the openness and friendliness of the group immediately made the experience feel comfortable and enjoyable.
After breakfast, the team headed toward Shivapuri National Park, leaving behind the busy city and entering the peaceful forest trails. The route was carefully chosen to showcase the natural beauty of the region, including the breathtaking landscapes of Tarebir Hills and the historic Sundarijal Old Dam. As the group moved deeper into the forest, the fresh air, greenery, and peaceful surroundings made the journey feel refreshing and energizing.
The trail itself was challenging at times, with steep uphill climbs and rugged paths that tested everyone’s endurance. Yet these challenges became moments of encouragement and teamwork, as participants motivated and supported one another throughout the hike. Walking together created a natural space for conversations, allowing people to connect beyond the workplace and build both personal and professional relationships.
One of the highlights of the journey was reaching Tarebir Hills, where participants paused to admire and capture the stunning scenery through photos and videos. Every turn along the trail offered picturesque moments that reflected the beauty of the hills and the spirit of adventure shared by the group.
The hike continued toward Sundarijal Old Dam, where the team explored the historic site and appreciated the combination of natural beauty and cultural significance. The sound of flowing water and the sight of the dam marked a rewarding moment after hours of trekking. Reaching Sundarijal brought a strong sense of accomplishment and unity among the participants, who had completed the journey together.
Strategic pit stops along the route allowed everyone to rest, recharge, and capture memorable group photos against the backdrop of forests, hills, and flowing water. These moments reflected not only the physical journey but also the camaraderie, laughter, and togetherness that defined the experience.
After completing the hike, the team headed toward 109 Degrees for a hearty lunch. The meal became a time to relax, reflect, and celebrate the day’s achievements together. By the end of the adventure, participants were no longer simply coworkers or acquaintances, but a team bonded by a memorable shared experience.
The Budhanilkantha to Sundarijal hiking adventure became more than just a trek through nature. It was a journey of connection, resilience, and discovery — filled with scenic beauty, meaningful conversations, and moments that will be remembered long after the trails were left behind.
