Hiking never gets boring because there is always something new to see, learn and experience. So, I was very excited about going on my first hike from Deerwalk Foods (DWF), and woke up early to reach Deerwalk premises. There were 12 of us in our group: 10 staff members from Deerwalk Foods and 2 Directors, Pramod and Kapil, from Deerwalk Services. This hike was special because it was a sort of a farewell for Mohan, ex-manager of DWF, and a welcome for Ram, the new manager of DWF.
We started our journey from Deerwalk complex at 7:45 am and, after having breakfast at Sankhu, we started our hike at around 9 am. We were leaving the crowded, busy city behind and climbing uphill to reach our first destination point, Kattike. This part of the hike was quite easy for us as we were all full of energy and excitement.
After some snacks at Kattike, we walked uphill through a jungle to reach Nagarkot, our final destination. We had our late lunch there and went to Nagarkot Tower where everyone had a fun time.
On the way back to Kathmandu, we stopped our van by the side of the road and had lots of fun dancing. Then, we returned home singing Dohori songs. It was a hike to remember.
