Sara Bade With sleepy eyes and the prospect of a fun-filled day, I arrived at Deerwalk at around 7:30 in the morning. Many hikers had already gathered and were playing table tennis. When all of us arrived, we left Deerwalk at 8:05 am. All of us were thrilled about the adventure that lay ahead of us. We got in the van and started singing and chit-chatting. As we were nearing Sakhu, however, we got stuck in huge traffic. We could feel our excitement draining away. After almost 4 hours, which felt like a million years, we finally reached Jaharsingh Pauwa: the starting point of our hike. We stopped there, had some breakfast, and afterward, our hike to Nagarkot Tower began. It was a beautiful day, perfect for hiking. Neither too cold nor too hot. Luckily we didn’t have to wear layers upon layers of clothes nor were we soaked in sweat after walking for some time. After walking about a mile, we came across a school library made just out of windows. I had never seen anything like this before. As we walked through the wilderness, fresh air filled our lungs. The greenery of the trail was a sight to behold. The clear blue sky, the chirping of the birds, the sound of the flowing water, and the overall calmness made us feel like we were one with nature. It took us about 4 hours to reach our final destination, Nagarkot Tower. The view from the tower itself was worth the whole hike. We saw a beautiful panoramic view of the whole mountain range. And as we were returning, we glimpsed an alluring sunset. A perfect end to a perfect day!
