On 22nd September 2024, 17 enthusiastic participants came together at Deerwalk Complex. The group set off at 8:06 AM, embarking on a journey towards Lauke Jharna, a distance of approximately 29.2 kilometers from DSS. The objective of the hike was to promote outdoor activity, environmental awareness, and camaraderie among the participants.

Beginning of the Journey

The group was full of excitement and anticipation. At 8:25 AM, the first stop was made near the Tokha Grand Tower at Santosh Sweets for breakfast. The hikers enjoyed a delicious spread of jeri puri, samosa tarkari, milk tea, and black tea. With energy levels replenished, the group purchased water and snacks from Big Mart, ensuring they were well-prepared for the long hike ahead. The journey resumed at 9:24 AM.

The Hike Begins

At 10:37 AM, the group arrived at Kaphaldara, where the actual hike began. The initial part of the trail was scenic, with lush greenery and the cool breeze providing a refreshing atmosphere. The participants, equipped with the necessary gear, made steady progress along the route.

Picking Up Litter

As part of the hike’s focus on environmental responsibility, the participants made sure to keep the trail clean. Along the way, from Kaphaldara to the hiking start point, the group took the initiative to pick up litter they found scattered on the trail. Equipped with gloves and plastic bags, they managed to collect a significant amount of trash.

By 11:20 AM, just before beginning the hike towards Chaharey Jharna, the group had gathered enough litter to fill three large plastic bags. These were properly disposed of in a garbage can located at the side of the road, ensuring the waste was taken care of responsibly. This act underscored the group's commitment to preserving the natural beauty of the hiking trail and minimizing their environmental impact.

The participants relished the experience, laughing, playing in the water, and capturing the moment with photos.

Afterward, the group made their way to the lower jharna, where they plunged into the water once again. The excitement continued as everyone enjoyed another round of bathing, swimming, and taking group photos. The natural beauty of the surroundings combined with the joy of the group created unforgettable memories, with the waterfalls serving as the highlight of the hike.
