On Saturday, January 19, 2025, a group of 17 students, along with a faculty member, set out on an exciting hike to Latarambeshwor Mahadev, a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva which is located in the Ipa Panchakanya area of Makwanpur district. The journey commenced at 7:00 am from the Deerwalk Complex, where everyone gathered with necessary supplies and a spirit of adventure to embark on their hike.

We took a break at around 8:15 am to refuel with a hearty breakfast at Chapagaun. Approximately two hours later, we arrived at the hiking destination, Latarambeshwor Mahadev, nestled amidst the stunning scenery of Makwanpur. About 50 kilometers from Kathmandu, the journey rewarded us with breathtaking vistas and an immersive natural experience. Along the way, everyone navigated the rugged terrain and also contributed in promoting cleanliness by picking up the non-biodegradable wastes from roadside, and raising awareness about preserving the natural beauty of the area. Some people got so inspired by us that they even started helping us clean.

After about four hours of hiking, we reached the summit, where a small temple dedicated to Latarambeshwor Mahadev awaited us. The breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape strengthened our spirituality and connection to nature. Despite the challenging terrain, everyone embraced their journey with hearts full of cherished memories. At around 5:00 pm, we reached our bus, concluding our hike through this magnificent terrain. The return journey to Kathmandu took approximately three hours, and by 8:00 pm, we were back in the city, where everyone enjoyed a filling dinner while reminiscing about their adventure-filled day.

In conclusion, the hike to Latarambeshwor Mahadev showcased the beauty and diversity of Nepal's natural landscapes, providing participants with an opportunity to reconnect with nature, build friendships, and create lasting memories while fostering a sense of responsibility toward environmental preservation. Despite the challenges faced along the way, the journey was marked by moments of joy, camaraderie, and personal growth, making it an unforgettable experience for all involved.
