Introduction
The hike on 6th Poush, 2081 was a remarkable experience for us , students of Grade 12 , as it gave us a refreshing break from our daily routine and gave us the opportunity to make lasting memories together. Determined to explore nature and make unforgettable memories we met at the school gate at 7:45 AM. With excitement , we started our journey to Bhundole - Champadevi Hike.
Overview of the hike
After the attendance was taken and other formalities were completed, it was finally time for the students to board the bus and start shaking it with dance and excitement. The spirits were high, with everyone dancing and cheering , setting the mood for the hike. After about 1.25 hours on the road, we finally arrived at Pharping, and the excitement reached a peak as everyone prepared to begin the hike.
After reaching Bhundole Chour at 9:45 AM, which marked the end of our main hike, we still weren’t ready to stop. Even though our main hike ended, everyone was excited to keep going. So, we decided to start a new journey to Champadevi. We took a short rest to catch our breath and again we began walking at 10:10 AM, eager to see more beautiful scenery. Around 12:00 noon, we finally reached Champadevi after a 1.83 hours straight hike. Everyone was exhausted, so we decided to take a well deserved break. It was the perfect time to rest, grab a bite, and catch our breath before continuing on.
After our break, we began heading towards Taudaha at 1:45 PM and arrived there at 3:30 PM, including a short stop along the way. Once all the students and teachers reached Taudaha, we knew it was the end of our hike. From there, we made our way to Kathmandu, bringing the adventure to a close.
The school had planned for dinner when we returned, but little did we know, a surprise was in store. Our teacher made an announcement that instead of going directly to the school for dinner, we would be taken to Lete Thakali. Despite being tired, once we reached Lete Thakali at 4:40 PM, everyone, students and teachers alike, enjoyed the delicious Thakali food. After such a fun-filled day, we finally made our way back to college, arriving at 5:00 PM.
The Hiking Experience
The hike to Bhundole Chour was one of the most refreshing days of my life. It felt amazing to leave behind the stress of exams and studies, even just for a day and enjoying nature. It was so peaceful and relaxing being surrounded by nature with trees and fresh air. When we reached the wide open field of the Bhuldole Chour, it felt like freedom. We played games with friends, laughed, and even made new friends- dogs that joined us. The dog ran around the Bhundole Chour with many of us chasing the dog. Lying on the grass and looking at the sky. It was so nice to just laugh and spend time with my friends, forgetting about exams and school for a while.
There were no books, no pressure, no deadlines, just us, nature, and the joy of being together. By the end of the day, I didn’t want it to end. The memories we made that day will always stay with me, reminding me how important it is to take a break and enjoy the simple things in life.

This trip reminded me that sometimes, it’s the small things that bring us the most joy.

Introduction:
The journey began early in the morning with a fresh breeze and excitement among us students. All students gathered early, full of excitement for the day ahead. The drive was smooth, with little traffic. As we passed through the edges of Kathmandu, we saw busy markets, small villages, and terraced fields. The cool morning air added to the excitement, we had a lot of fun on the bus, playing music and dancing along, which filled the ride with energy and laughter.
Overview of the Hike
The trek started with an easy climb through a quiet forest. Birds were singing, and the leaves made soft sounds. Sometimes, the trail showed beautiful views of hills and valleys. The group walked slowly, stopping to drink water, take pictures, and enjoy the view. At Bhundole Chour, we sat down and rested, took pictures, and ate snacks in the peaceful open space. There were even dogs with whom some of the boys played. There were a few other people besides our school as well who helped us click our group photos.
With steep trails and narrow paths that needed focus and energy, this part was difficult, but it was worth it. We walked through pine forests and saw colorful wildflowers. Sometimes, we stopped at viewpoints to see the wide views of Kathmandu Valley and snow-covered mountains. At the Champadevi summit, we felt proud and happy with the amazing views. A group of people was performing a ritual called Kul Pooja, and we sat nearby, enjoying the snacks we had brought. We waited for everyone to gather, took lots of pictures, and had a great time laughing and chatting. The temple at the top made the moment calm and special.
The descent was a different experience as we retraced our steps with a lighter mood. We walked slowly, enjoying the fresh air and the sounds of nature around us. The trail gave us new views of the valley below. We met friendly locals and other hikers, exchanging smiles and greetings. We took a break to relax, sharing snacks and water while enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Our feet were shivering as well, and some of us took photos of the beautiful scenery.
The return journey was a time to reflect on the day’s achievements. We talked about funny moments, how the place was amazing , and planning more hikes so that we can take a break from all the things going on in our lives. When we arrived at Lete Thakali, we enjoyed a hearty and delicious meal. The authentic Thakali cuisine, including dal bhat, meat, and tasty pickles, helped boost our energy and spirits. The meal was a perfect ending to a physically demanding but rewarding day.
Feeling happy and refreshed, the group got back on the bus for the ride to college. The good friendship and shared pride made the trip lively, with everyone sharing their favorite photos and planning to post about the day on social media. The ride home was a mix of joy and exhaustion, showing that it was a great hike.
