On the 20th of December, 2024, Grade III students successfully completed a challenging hike route from Gokarna to Tare Vir along with the teachers. All the students were very excited for the hike. They arrived on school premises at 8:30 am. Lunch was served at 9:15 am as the hikers needed to start the journey at 10 am. Right after lunch, students were briefed about the need for safety as they were walking outdoors. Soon after the briefing session, students were paired with partners to walk with.
The bus moved at 10:15am from the school and reached Gokarna bus stop at 10:45. From the bus stop, we could see the huge alphabetical hoarding of TARE VIR kept on the hills. The adventurous hikers embarked on their hike as soon as they got off the bus. We could feel the elevation as we saw the city right below our sight. We saw small streams on the way. The path began with stairs. Later, the path led through towering trees and we could feel the breeze. We felt the beauty of nature at its best as the beauty of towering trees with the backdrop of blue sky. The scorching sun and the uphill road made us a bit thirsty. After an hour of walking, we all rested on the ground and drank some water.
On the way, we saw beautiful stupas adorned with prayer flags. We clicked some photos and continued on our journey. After about 45 minutes, we reached the TARE VIR hoarding board area. We felt the success of our walk as we reached the top. We looked for some good place to sit by. We could see a green grass area nearby. All our tiredness vanished after we saw such a good place to rest. We rested there and unpacked the food brought from home. We shared our food with one another and enjoyed the scenery.
After 30 minutes, we got ready to return back. Everyone felt easier to walk as the road began to decline. The road was dusty. Still, the dust didn’t stop us as we were near the bus stop. We reached the destination and could see our school bus waiting for us. The sight of the school bus marking the successful completion of our hike. We took our seats and reached the school at 2:45. We got refreshed and had our snacks. We made a circle and shared our views about the hike. At 3:40, the school bell rang and we headed to our home with the memories of a fulfilling day spent in nature.
