Prashant Neupane DWIT Hiking club organized a two-day hike to Bandipur on the 27th and 28th of April. All of the selected hikers gathered at Deerwalk Complex at 6:45 am. The weather of Kathmandu that day was amazing, so full of enthusiasm we started our bus journey. Listening to music and playing different sorts of games we left the valley. We stopped for breakfast near Dharke and continued our journey. Different faces from different batches came together so we were able to know each other. We then stopped for lunch but later decided that all we needed at that time was a scoop of ice cream. We then started our hike from Bimalanagar where we had to climb up the hill to Siddha Cave. The temperature of Bimalanagar was above 30 degree centigrade. Walking under the scorching sun was not an easy job but still everyone walked with enthusiasm eager to get to the Cave. We then explored the Cave, took some photos and continued our journey to Bandipur. We climbed all the way to the top and even played the swing on our way to Bandipur which was fun as well as terrifying as it was on the verge to collapse. We reached the hotel at around 6. After some quick snacks we went to visit Bandipur Bazar. It is one of the old cities with old culture and architecture atmosphere. The lightening of the Bazar was a sight to see. We then came back to our hotel and had our dinner along with barbeque and games of course. Early in the morning, the next day, we had our breakfast and started our trip to Lamo Jharna. The Jharna was around 20 minutes’ walk from Jalbirey. The weather was so hot that we didn’t hesitate for a second to jump into the cold water. Splashing water to each other and relaxing under the waterfall was an unforgettable moment. We then came back to bus and returned to Kathmandu after having lunch at Mugling. Although most of us didn’t know how to dance we atleast tried to dance on our way back. It was memorable indeed. We reached college at around 5:30 pm and bid goodbye to each other and returned home exhausted from the wonderful trip.
Simran Parajuli On 27th and 28th of April Hiking club organized two days hike to Bandipur. There were a lot of applicants willing to go for hiking. Among all 16 of us were selected. The journey started at 7 in the morning when everyone gathered in the college. The hiking started at Bimalanagar where we had to climb up the hill to Siddha cave. The temperature of Bimalanagar was above 30 deg. Walking under the scorching sun was not an easy job. Still everyone walked with enthusiasm eager to get to the cave. The cave was huge. It is said to be the largest cave in Nepal. Its cathedral-like interior is full of stalactites and stalagmites, not to mention hundreds of bats, which whistle overhead. It had big rocks which had fossils like structure. The rocks were slippery so we had to be careful and slow. We reached to the hotel at 6 PM in the evening after a long exhausting hike of 5 hours. After some quick snacks we went to visit Bandipur Bazar. It is one of the old city with old culture and architecture atmosphere. The lightening of the Bazar was a sight to see. After a short tour to the Bazar we returned to our hotel. After everyone changed, we had our dinner accompanied with some good music. Early in the morning, the next day, we had our breakfast and started our trip to Lamo Jharna. The Jharna was 30 minutes’ walk from Jalbire. Green hills panoramic scene adds up more beauty to this Jharna. Everyone jumped into the water. The cold water of the jharna was relaxing after a long and tiring walk. We then returned to the valley. It took us about 3 hours to get to the valley. It was about 6 in the evening when everyone bid goodbye and left for home. Overall, it was a memorable and fun experience.
