Hiking is one of the most popular outdoor recreational activities that allows people to explore nature, improve physical fitness, and experience adventure. This report presents an overview of a hiking trip, including the location, objectives, preparation, activities, challenges, and overall experience. The hike provided an opportunity to observe natural landscapes, develop teamwork, and understand the importance of environmental conservation. The purpose of this report is to describe the hiking experience and evaluate its benefits and difficulties.

Hiking is a part of Deerwalk’s culture. We organize a hike every month. A healthy body is the first condition for everything. So, hiking is also for that purpose and also for team bonding. This report describes a hiking trip organized by our school to experience adventure and learn about the natural environment.

We gathered at school. All of us were dressed up well and prepared with all the required things. The hike started at 8:46 AM from the base area (Bhalam). We carried water, snacks, first-aid supplies, and our belongings. We took some exciting photos while passing through the “Kali Suspension Bridge”. We stepped up many stairs to Harihar Gufa. It was a small cave but surrounded by trees and plants. We met four Gurus who stayed at the temple. There was a planted area and a temple area built by Daraaz, an online shopping company. We were very friendly to each other. To make the hike even more exciting, we used TikTok to capture vital memories. We were having fun during the video shoot. We had a short rest at one spot and drank a cup of tea and “mohi”.

We continued our hiking, and we reached Baghthal at 10 AM. After hiking for half an hour we came to Dadaguan which was on our planned list at 10:45 AM. We sat on the road and had our snacks as all of us were hungry. We had a good time sharing and laughing together.

After walking for some hours we reached Aantighar hill which was our destination at 1:30 PM. We stopped there at the hill and found a good village resort called Aantighar Village Resort. The resort was full of beautiful flowers and plants with chairs and tables around the swimming pool. The swimming pool was a stunning sight at the resort. Firstly, we had some drinks with  snacks. Secondly, we made some TikTok videos  while the Thakali Dish was being prepared. Thirdly, we swam in the swimming pool just before eating time. It was a great and adventurous  time spent at the resort. Then, finally, we had our special Thakali lunch. We spent approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes in the resort. Such a long but very memorable time it was!

During the journey, we observed forests, birds, and beautiful landscapes. Short breaks were often taken for rest and photography. We used to stop in some places to pick some Golden Himalayan Rashberry (Aushelu).

However, some teachers felt tired because of the steep trail. A few teachers also faced difficulty walking on rocky paths. So, they took the tractor for convenience. Raju Badal sir's hair (Tuppi) got caught in the Rashberry bush while picking some berries. However, he managed to take it off the bush. Some of our teachers were bitten by leeches. And Tika Ram Paydel’s “janai” was lost while swimming but Ashish Bhandari  managed to find it.

Finally, we descended from the destination, Aantighar at 4:15 PM as the weather was cloudy. We walked all the way down the hill there which was very stiff. Finally, we reached the bus station called Bisauna and waited for our school van to pick us up. Saila Dai arrived with the van at 5:30 PM. and boarded the e-van. At last, our exciting journey terminated after reaching home safely but tired, with plural fresh experiences and memories.

To recapitulate, the hiking trip was educational, adventurous, and enjoyable. It improved our physical fitness, increased our appreciation for nature, and strengthened teamwork among teachers. Overall, the program was a memorable and valuable experience.
