Description:
This picture was taken during Indra Jatra. One is able to observe numerous varieties of traditional dances. The festival is named after Lord Indra who is known as the god of rain and also as the king of heaven.

People from all over Nepal, mostly those who live within the Kathmandu Valley, gather at the Hanuman Dhoka in Kathmandu. The real fun of Indra Jatra is for the Youths. Being a public holiday large groups of young boys gather and take part in the festivities. It is time for them to enjoy themselves and indulge in the show of power and fight to drink the sweet newari liquor.
