An idol of Swet Bhairab, a destructive manifestation of Shiva, glares at the world during the annual festival of Indra Jatra. It marks the conclusion of the monsoon season in Kathmandu.
This sculpture of Bhairab is opened only on the occasion of Indra Jatra festival, which happens once every year. The rest of time the gates remain closed.
