My heart was pounding as I walked through the doors of the Tribhuvan International airport on Nov 14, 2017 as my first visit to overseas country was going to happen. After around 20 hours of travel with additional 12 hrs of hectic transit, I finally landed on the land of United states of America on the day of Nov 15 2017. Saroj dai and Manish dai were outside of Terminal E of Boston Logan Airport to pick me up and they dropped me to Rebika didi’s place where I was going to stay.

I Joined Deerwalk Lexington office on the very next day. I was very happy to meet the people face to face that I have been working and chatting with. My first observation of the office was like data hall of the Deerwalk Nepal office with complete different working environment. People were busy on client calls and meeting all day and the hall used to be in quite state for most of the time. But still they manage to get some fun time making fun of each other where Bipul Dai and Gerardo were the key players.

Beside the fun, I got a chance to closely observe the operation of Lexington office and I was glad to see how the Lexington office actually works. The US team was always busy to address the client’s issues and problems. I also got the chances to attend several client calls where I got into client requirement and expectation and help them with the issues they face which were beneficial for my personal aspect as well. The urgency/resolution from the US side was different than what I feel from offshore. Overall, it was a good experience that I got to know about the clients, working style, and the urgency of work form the close eye. It was a great exposure for me to build my confidence and it helped me to grow professionally.

I also got the chances to attend several client calls where I got into client requirement and expectation and help them with the issues they face which were beneficial for my personal aspect as well.

In the 3 months of stay, I lived with Rebika di for 1 and half months and then I moved to Ashay dai’s house. Both of the families were great; they treated me as a family member. I was overwhelmed by their caring and welcoming attitude. All those Friday parties with Rebika di and Prabhas dai will always remain in my heart for a lifetime.

Besides office stuff and works, I visited different shopping malls, restaurants, stores and places around NH and Mass. And beside this, I visited New York, DC and Colorado where I got to know more about the US culture, traditions, lifestyle and the foods.

Three months long US stay was a memorable time that rejuvenated me in a new environment. It is great to have had this opportunity to explore and experience the work culture in the US. I would like to thank the overseas team for making my stay in the USA so comfortable and memorable. I am deeply grateful to Deerwalk for providing me such an amazing opportunity.
