I had a great trip to the United States. As Rudra Dai says,”You must visit United States of America at least once.” It was everything I was told, heard, read and have seen in movies.
Boston is a beautiful city. People in Boston are friendly and polite. They will greet you and hold the door open for you. Bostonians also stop their cars to let you cross the road. There are lots of places you can visit in Boston – Harvard Square, Boston Common, and the Boston Harbor are a few. You can also visit downtown to see skyscrapers in Boston.
You should visit New York to see the real America. New York is very different from Boston, which you will notice immediately upon arrival. There are tall buildings, lots of subways, and streets filled with tourists. Unlike Boston, the people in New York will not even notice you. I did not feel like I was an outsider standing out from the crowd while in New York.
When you are in America, you first have to figure out what to eat. Quincy Market in Boston – also called Faneuil Hall Marketplace – has food stalls from different parts of the world. You want to learn how to eat Mexican food before ordering. There are some Nepali and Indian restaurants if no other cuisines interest you.
I did not plan for my trip much, but I recommend the next visitor to do some planning ahead. Google is your best friend – learn to read the map. Consult colleagues who have already visited the US. You will find everything you need on the internet. When you are out, read and understand the signs and instructions around you.
Don’t worry if you don’t have a plan; the Deerwalk US Team already has a backup plan for you and you will not be bored. We have a great team in Boston; they are a very efficient and hardworking team. I was amazed to see how much they achieve in a day. They work US working hours, are available for communication with the Nepal Team, take care of their families and households, and still manage time to invite you for dinner at their house. I thank the entire US team for making my stay fun and memorable.
Thank you Rudra Dai and Deerwalk Management Team for inviting me to the United States of America. It was an opportunity of a lifetime.
