Prepesh Tuladhar On Sunday, 30th September we went on a hike to Taudaha. We gathered at the college at 7 AM sharp and departed at 7:30 AM. There were total 12 hikers and, on the way we had breakfast at 8 AM at Nakkhudobato. We were very excited to reach our destination. The knowledge given by Mr. Surendra Adhikari Sir was very informative about the place. We reached Khokana at 8:45 AM and started our hike through the path with lot of steep place. In the middle way, the fast track was in process of making to connect the Khokana. We were in search of the bridge to cross the river. Finally, we found the suspension bridge after a long walk. We clicked some pictures there and moved to our destination. In the middle we took rest at the park and enjoyed the view.
Then we started walking from the first hydropower of Nepal i.e. Phaping. We had to climb the steps for more than half hours. Despite the tiredness we finally reached to the top and had rest up there and enjoyed cucumber. After a short rest we again started our journey. We walked through the steep place up the hill crossing the road of Dakshinkali to the trail of Champadevi. After a short walk up the hill we reached at the Hattiban Resort, we had some snacks and freshened up filled up the water bottles.
Then moved towards our trail. It was nearly 1:30 PM. It was a long distance to the place we were heading but still the determination was on the top. We kept on walking the trail we finally reached the midway of Champadevi and from there we took a turn and started walking down the hill. The view from the top was mesmerizing as we could see the Taudaha which made us very exciting and we started to walk down the hill. The route was tough and leeches were in abundance. After an hour and a half walk at 3:45 PM we reached the road where our van was waiting. We were really tired and exhausted.
Finally, we had our lunch at Satdobato at 4:00 PM ending a yet another epic and exhausting hike.
Rajat Raj Joshi On 30th of November 2018, hikers set out for a hike to Hattiban. Everyone gathered at the college at 6:45 but some of the hikers were not on time so it was around 7:30 when we left. On the way to the hiking spot, Surendra Sir briefed us about the hike and some info about the area. We had our breakfast at around 8:30. Having gathered some energy from the light breakfast, we finally reached Pharping from where our hike officially began at around at around 9.
On the way, we stopped multiple times enjoying the cucumber slices and drinks that the hiking club had arranged for us. We reached Hattiban at around 1:30 where we rested for a while and had our lunch. We climbed further uphill enjoying the bird’s eye view of the Kathmandu valley. From there we descended to Taudaha lake where we would find our van waiting for us. We had our dinner at café in Satdobato and were dropped at the college at about 5:30. Overall the hike turned out to be really fun and all the hikers returned home creating memories that would last a lifetime.
