Nepali Congress supporters are all over the world even if the party is solely controlled by corrupt and polluted Koirala family. There is not any kind of democracy inside the party. Nepalis abroad, however, do not have any choice. Nepali Congress is best among the worst parties in Nepal. Congress well wishers are meeting in Connecticut, USA in early September to formalize an executive committee. Nepalis from North America states are flocking to the New England state. This organization should help party in Nepal just like various Jewish organizations abroad influence political agenda in Israel and various Indian groups in USA pressure Indian government towards liberalization of its policy. Let us see how far these non-resident Nepalese can go and help Nepal. Leaders from Nepal should be able to learn from these groups of non-resident Nepalese and change their attitude. This is

I attended this gathering. About 200 political junkies joined and I was one of them. Those guys did not know what were they doing. They have habit of taking part in politics and following Nepali Congress leaders. They wanted another “time-pass” organization with no definite goal. By the way Rudra Pandey was wise enough not to attend the MELA. Shiva Gautam showed up and gave a boring speech. This guy Shiva is a lousy speaker. No energy. The president elect was another boring assistant professor Surendra Devkota. These professors have a lot of times in their hands and they want to do something to get public attention as they are also tired of sitting all day in 8X10 closed cell. People like me work hard and we have no time for frickin NEPALI politics.
Geeta – you are crossing the limit. How do you know how much Rudra and Shiva know politics? Please do not pass surface comments. What happend to all those Geeta lesson that you always boast about? Every Nepali know about politcs. How could you say two well-educated persons (both PhDs from USA) know nothing about politics. And how do you know they have joined the party. Your link just shows them as advisors of the organizing committee. People can be advisor to any party without joining the party. Do you know that many consultants advise both democrat and republicans in USA? I persoanlly know Rudra hates current version of Nepali congress. Please read some of his anti-Girija postings on this site.
Geeta, hehe true, the site is for Nepali Congress followers and i could not know which font to use, so, Nepali texts were garbled. Nepali Congress has no modern ideas, neither commitment to newer generation changes. One can see the current status quo there. OLD are ruling. NEW never got chance, so Deuba opened another Congress. if i were to become political animal, i would support deuba, not koirala. it does not mean all expressions from deuba congress are radically enough for new Nepal.
Politics and business must go hand-by-hand. Businessmen must rule Nepal now, and FNCCI must lodge a party registration so, business men start politics. it will help in Nepal’s improper tax system, custom duties, and other business demises that has been making Nepal poorer and poorer.

I think this is an excellent oppurtunity for us to form a pressure group and deliver all the concerns through them.
We will have decent language nad genuine concerns.
They are highly qualified and are intellectuals. Nepali politics need presence like theirs to bring about changes. They have opened us channels. (However, the experience with lots of PhD wallas have not fared successfully in Nepalese politics and context – time will tell about them).
May be political affiliation is necessary to run business also.

Seeing other two Boston guys there as advisors make me laugh. They are Rudra Pandey and Shiva Gautam. What would these two guys with almost zero political identity do there? I am also suprised to see someone convinced them to be take advisor role – which has no meaning. Everyone is running after political affiliation. That’s why politicians think they have keys to the castle.

Beside, I know one thing that Nepalese commies living in ‘Western World’ are more organized than Nepalese democrats. I do sincerely hope the positive changes in Nepalese democrats living out there and good luck from pawan here.

Forget about what Nepalese community can influence govt here. So poor fellas. I wonder what pressure Chinese millionaires exerting the Chinese govt 🙄
Groups like this one is mostly dominated by people like Mridula Koirala (who is Nepali Congress Chamcha and who owns a restaurant in NY) and a Nepali Lawyer Khagendra G.C. (who is a C grade immigration lwayer and is struggling for indentity in USA). These people could not do much professionally in USA and are trying to do Nepali poliitcs from USA. Indian and Jewish groups are controlled by billionnaires. In Nepali communicity hardly any millionnaires. These people who can’t donotate $5K if needed can’t do any thing more. No hope here. Some Nepali leaders like Sushil, Ram Chandra will come here, lecture the convention and go.
