Nepal
My ancestors and my blood from the one place I treasure
Thinking, talking, and visiting that dear place is always a pleasure
From Mount Everest to Japha I go
Every piece of land I bow to
One of the smallest countries with one of the biggest disaster
Maoists running back and fro to master to master
The country folk all ran into one city
What a pity, a great fight wasn’t given
For houses, traditions became forgotten
Katmandu that city was trashed
Old buildings were smashed
New houses were built
Katmandu became the New York City but no one felt guilt
The government didn’t give a bit
All they did was sit, watched people die
Their children and all they did was sighed “bye”
My country, my home, and my people
Many prayed on the steeples
Thank the gods for now peace has rang
Nepal is another great place to hang
My ancestors and my blood from the one place I treasure
Thinking, talking, and visiting that dear place is always a pleasure
From Mount Everest to Japha I go
Every piece of land I bow to

Thanks again for the post. Much obliged.
You can feel the pain of others……….
I think the piece has vivid depection of the ongoing horrors in Nepal. But it ends with a positive note as the peace deal has struck. So I think your poem captures the overall story of Nepal with a rhyme. And your love for Nepal is commendable.
that was soooo good
ur a really good writer
p.s. greetings from radio
I am liking your attitude. Very postive and upbeat! You can make a difference. Please keep it up young lady.

Hi Akriti – if you are so much in love with Nepal and Nepali, we need you in Nepal. Seems like you are not in the country. Do you really love or it is just a fiction? It is too much to believe.
