Photo Description:
A vendor selling Lotus near Kasthamandap in Kathmandu this morning and it is hotcake today because Lotus is must for worshipping Goddess Laxmi during Tihar (Dipawali).
Lakshmi is the Hindu goddess of wealth, prosperity (both material and spiritual), light, wisdom, fortune, fertility, generosity and courage; and the embodiment of beauty, grace and charm. Representations of Lakshmi are also found in Jain monuments. Mahalakshmi brings good luck to her devotees. She is believed to protect her devotees from all kinds of misery and money-related sorrows. Thanks Ravi and Suresh , for the comment.
Wow .. a super wide shot.(But with the ultra wide you also get some distortion..notice the guy with blue shirt..looks bit distorted..) ..Loved the composition…
@Ravi.. SB has mentioned the location ……its around Kasthamandup.. thiya ko purba pati ko location ho yo..
At the first glance, didn’t like the image(a bit blur face of the man holding Lotus :P), later going through the description and the image caption, liked the way you’ve focused on Lotus and the information there.
Could not locate the place where shot was taken. Would love to shoot with some Wide Angle lens 😉 someday… hehe..
