It was the first Saturday after joining the new job. Picnic, at Kakani. So I am at Kakani and knew very few people. There were some clouds, but the day seemed to be promising and sunny. I was sitting there thinking that the picnic seemed to be a bad idea because 1. 2. I slept late that day because I played an online game till 2:00 AM and 3. I was one of the new guys in the group and wasn’t familiar with most of the people.

I have to admit that I made the right call when I checked ‘Yes’ in the picnic polling.

It started out as a boring day and I was quite sleep deprived too, but as the day progressed and the games like ‘Caterpillar’ and ‘Musical Chair’ were played, it turned out to be quite fun (some chairs were broken). Although I think a lot of good feeling had to do something with alcohol. As I am thinking back on the day.

It was a Saturday morning. This was my first picnic from Deerwalk. I along with my co-workers headed towards Kakani, one of the best recreational destinations filled with adventures. We started our trip together from Balaju by-pass which is one of the busiest place in Kathmandu.

It was so amazing that you can really enjoy the experience of Mountain Range View if you are just 1-2 hours away from Kathmandu.

It is quite an alternative holiday place for Nagarkot which is ideal for Day Picnics and programs. The Kakani Mountain View hotel and resort. With like its name suggests, offers a nice view of the mountains and of Kathmandu is quite alluring. The mountain landscape of central Nepal, a vast collection of majestic peaks stretching from Ganesh Himal to the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. It was so amazing that you can really enjoy the experience of Mountain Range View if you are just 1-2 hours away from Kathmandu. We all started taking photographs. Everyone was enjoying with an uninterrupted dramatic view of the different Himalayan ranges. After having breakfast, picnic day started with playing different games, dancing, roaming which was quite fun. The most amusing game was MUSICAL CHAIR. Everyone enjoyed a lot.

We also found strawberry farming done by local farmers. Trout Fish and homemade strawberry wine which was quite famous around there. The restaurant’s food was delicious to say the least-Chili Chicken highly recommended! I can definitely say that this is the ultimate destination for relaxation, adventure, recreation and picnic activities.

Last week we visited Kakani as our Picnic spot. It was my first picnic with Deerwalk.
Right from the day I receive the mail about picnic I was too excited to be part of it.

The games, food and the dance, of course was awesome.

But On the day of the picnic I was in a dilemma because I was new there, it was just a week since I joined the company. Many questions were going on my mind. How will I be interacting with people? Will it be worth-worthy or not. It was a picnic with strangers at all. The decision I took to be part of it was the right one. The friendly atmosphere and family environment, erased all my feelings of being new.

I was completely in. The games, food and the dance, of course was awesome. I got a chance to meet all my team mates and it was not only a simple meet, but it created a bond of friendship which wouldn’t have been possible even in a long period of time.
