On the day of January 15, 2016 I went to hike with my friends to Fulchowki. This was my first hiking experience from Deerwalk. We set to start the trip at 7 am sharp. But the weather was so cold that some of us cannot arrive on time as their warm bed was not allowing them to get up that early. Finally we started at half passed 7. We reached Godawari at about 8:15 and there we had our breakfast.
Then without any further delay we started to climb the altitude.
The police at the entrance aware us the danger of the shortcut but we chose the danger either way.
The police at the entrance aware us the danger of the shortcut but we chose the danger either way. At the beginning all of us were excited to get to the of the hill but as we were climbing the steep hills the cold climate and the toughness make some of us lose the hope to get there. After an hour from the shortcut we reached half the way to our destination. Then we take a rest and get re energized and keep moving.
After a long walk for about five hours we reached to the top of the hill. That was some place visit. The scenery was great and that was the only place where we felt warm. When we reached there we thought that we are the one to reach first among our group but when we saw Amrit meditating there we were like ….. how? Then we take some snaps and had lunch and set to return back.
Among our group three of us, me along with Ayush and Amrit set to return to our starting point as soon as possible. Then we take every single shortcuts that came in our way. This take us about half an hour to return back it’s like impossible. Then after about one and half hour all other came to Godawari where Rabin was waiting us. Then we had our dinner at Thakali in Sinamangal.
Finally all of us arrived Deerwalk complex and we went to our home.
DWIT hike was a sacred retreat from the hustle and bustle of our busy student lives. I got the chance to go for a one day hike organized by the Hiking Club in DWIT. I was eagerly waiting for that exciting moment to come. The night before hike was somehow sleepless. The plethora of thoughts ran in my mind. How will be tomorrows hike? What will be the place like where few queries filling up my mind?
In a shiny morning everyone were present in the deerwalk premises. We set out for journey from Deerwalk College heading towards Godawari. We had our snacks at a hotel in Godawari.
The weather was too freezing cold. Alacrity was surrounded in everyone’s face. We started our hike crossing Godawari.
The weather was too freezing cold. Alacrity was surrounded in everyone’s face. We started our hike crossing Godawari. Everything seemed so beautiful and to go for a hike early morning with beautiful sunshine was a cheerful moment for all the hikers.
Besides walking we also took some snaps and enjoyed the pleasant weather. Though the hike was pretty tiring but the enjoyment made the tiredness completely out of our mind. After the hike of nearly 5 hours, we reached our destination Phulchowki. We were able to reach the famous place of height 2700 m. The cold weather in Phulchowki was amusing. The view from the Phulchowki was really awesome. We had our snacks and were back to Godawari from the same way. I was extremely tired at the time of returning back but I enjoyed a lot with my friends. Finally, we had our dinner at Sinamangal and everybody devoured the food. After the dinner everybody returned back to their respective homes.
Since, it was my second hike with Deerwalk friends, everyone got to enjoy together. It was a chance to be familiar with Deerwalk culture. It is also a lesson for us to be in group activities. The hike helped us in improving our networking. It was one of the enjoyable moments.
This hike organized by Deerwalk remained very fruitful and unforgettable and wish the college would organize such hikes in upcoming days.
