It has been my immense pleasure to be a part of the hiking team. Early in the morning at 7 AM we all gathered at DWIT campus premises to start our journey being excited and joyous as it was my first hiking trip ever. We started our journey at 7:30 AM and stopped at Kalanki where we bought some snacks that could restore our energy during the hike. We continued from there and stopped at the small local cafe to have our morning breakfast at Chandragiri area itself, nearly after an hour of breakfast we moved to our destination: Chandragiri Hills (2,551 M).

As Chandragiri hills is located in the southwestern region of Kathmandu, this short hiking trip for a day is perfect for physical fitness with the less challenging terrain. Our hiking started from the Chandragiri station. With a lot of excitement, enthusiasm we started our hike through the luscious green forest area, the hike got even more pleasant as we started walking, singing in chorus, clicking pictures to make it even more memorable. It was hard climbing the hills but we didn’t give up as the periodic rest and the uplifting attitude of fellow hikers motivated each of us to reach the destination.

Finally, after almost 4 hours of long hike we reached our destination, and it felt so good at the top of the hills, the view was magnificent. We took some amazing pictures, took blessings on the Bhaleshwar Mahadev temple and energized ourselves with some of the snacks leftover. Again, the photo session started as the view was amazing due to the clear sky, we could see the various mountain ranges from the top.

After the photo session we still had a little time to rest after that we decided to go back down through the cable car as we all were tired and exhausted. The view from the cable car was breathtaking. The green forest down the cable car way was so amazing and we couldn’t believe that we had walked all those ways.

Reaching down the first thing we did was look for a best place for our lunch as we all were exhausted and starving. After that we headed towards Cozy Foodland at Kalanki. We had our delicious lunch over there. With new energy after having lunch we all hopped into our vehicle and enjoyed a lot inside the vehicle as well. We sang, danced inside the vehicle. After that we all departed to our office dropping some hikers on their way to home. I would forever cherish the moment and thank my office colleagues for the amazing hiking trip ever.
