Deewakar Dahal
Last Friday, we went on a hiking trip to Kaskikot at around 12:30 PM. Kaskikot is a very beautiful and peaceful place that I had never visited before. When we reached there, we first went to Kaskikot Durbar, which looked ancient and magnificent. The Durbar had eight windows, two doors, and around 214 diyos (oil lamps) that made the place look spiritual and sacred.
From the top, we could see people paragliding gracefully in the sky and also spot the cable car moving slowly across the hills. We saw a small goat shed where goats are sacrificed after special pooja during festivals. The view from Kaskikot was breathtaking, we could see Fewa Lake, Hemja Road, and even the Pokhara International Airport from the top.
As we started climbing the stairs to the top of Kaskikot, we noticed a group of monkeys playing near the base of the hill. Everyone was excited and a bit scared at the same time. When we reached the top, we enjoyed the cool breeze and the panoramic scenery of Pokhara city. We had our lunch together, laughed, and shared food with friends. After lunch, we played many games like Ice and Water and Catch the Ball.
Before leaving, our teacher reminded us to keep the place clean. We all collected dust, wrappers, and bottles, and threw them in the dustbins. On our way back, we sang songs loudly in the bus, talked about our fun experiences, and felt both happy and tired when we finally reached school. It was truly a memorable and refreshing hiking experience for all of us.
