It was a fine sunny morning when we gathered for the outing. Everyone was in their best mood, primed for the trip. We set off picking up the crew as we went on. The trip started with hearty laughs courtesy Manish and Pratik, songs played on Bipul’s Jukebox, wise cracks by Ashay, sweet smiles by the girls. The pit stop at ‘Keraghari’ for the chilled lassi was so refreshing. On the way, we bellowed along to the Jukebox, and would scramble for silence as soon as we reached check-posts.
Borderlands is beautifully sculpted alongside the powerful Bhote Koshi River. When we got there, we saw our cozy safari-style tents. The fresh and tantalizing mountain air was bliss. Only those who have been there can truly appreciate Shangri-la, get that much closer to paradise. The serene beauty of borderlands soothed our souls. The gushing river could make us feel the never-ending flow of life. The river earned our grudging respect with its howls. We would have loved a dip, but never ventured close enough.
After an hour of rest and refreshments, the team building activities began. Ajit and Sabita had us play Murderer and Detective; Manish turned out to be a very accomplished killer. It was filled with loads of laughter and pranks. The victims were punished in solemn manner :). The other activities were organized by Sagar C and Sunil. All brought a sense of togetherness within the team. The query game came along with the Data Engineers. It was live query within the members and quite confusing, but the team pulled it off. Later that evening, we settled at our getaway. Music and cards galore was the order of the night and we sipped away the night.
The morning after was a challenge. Even as we had fun, there was an acute sense of foreboding, of having to bid adieu to beauty. This was a great trip, not just because of how beautiful our abode was, it was great because of whom we got to go with. Truly the coolest team you could ask for.
“Goodbye doesn’t mean this has to be the end” – Elton John. We promise to return.
In spite of being the first outing with Deerwalk, I had loads of fun and was one of the wonderful outings that I ever had. I came with many memorable things from this outing.
The first one is the team building game. In between those wrestlers, I struggled a lot to win team building game and I did it. This outing also refreshed my old memories, especially when I sat and sang songs along with Bipul dai and Dipak, just like I used to do during my school days.
The most enjoyable of all was the huddle time. It was mid-night and we, were in a huddle sharing jokes. The flow of jokes was such that even the quiet Ajit cracked a joke (which was really complicated to understand).
Thanx to all for such a wonderful trip. I had lots of fun and became closer with Deerwalk team; all are so friendly. And special thanx to organizer, Anjan and Rosina… teha gaye pachi Deerwalk ko bhat ko yaad aayo :).
A fine morning beckoned the next day at Borderlands. The weather was cool. Everybody was in a fine mood. We had our breakfast. Everybody was taking photographs. The view was great for taking photographs. We then headed to Kathmandu after breakfast. We had fun in bus too. We played interesting games in bus. We stopped a while in Khaadichour for some shopping. Some were taking rest and others were busy in shopping at local market. After a few minutes break we again started our journey. The next stop was in Sukute resort. We had decided to take our lunch in Sukute resort. Meanwhile some of us were busy in swimming while some were playing billiards and rest of us was just taking rest. We had fine lassi in our way back home. The fun was all over the route.
