It was indeed a very competitive game in between IT/Admin team – “The infuriated Rhinos” and Services team – “The hunting Devils”. The Devils had thought a very easy going strategy against the Rhinos which almost proved to be very costly for them. Rhinos, in their best forms that day, charged with all their tactics as they knew that they had a very strong competitor against them. The Rhinos had no points made in the score board till now so the overall strategy was at least to draw and at the best win.
In spite of a very good defense from Ujjwal Manandhar, the fittest Rhino of the team, a powerful and a devilish long shot by Richan Shrestha from the Devils, from outside the D-box, proved to be fatal to the Rhinos. Pramod Gautam, the Rhino with superb reflexes, was unable to block the ball in spite of his strong effort. Devils had their horns blown all over the field after the massive attack and were saying that they would end the game with 7 more goals like that. Rhinos, not giving up, knew that this was not a good start. With a change in defense strategy, the Rhinos made their move to equalize. The Devils who were expecting a 7-0 lead soon found out that the Rhinos now were at their forms and played very well after taking the first hit. The first half ended with a very fierce battle in between the two teams.
An equalizer from the Rhinos against the Devil!!! – Wow what a comeback!
In the second half, the changed strategy proved to be very fruitful to the Rhinos. A confident dribble from Surendra Maharjan, the swift Rhino of the team, scored an easy equalizer goal against the Devils almost at the end of the game, after tackling two Devil defenders. The spectators were speechless. An equalizer from the Rhinos against the Devil!!! – Wow what a comeback! The Rhinos were running all over the field celebrating the equalizer. The Rhinos did what they had come for. Soon after the equalizer, an unfortunate hand ball of Piyush Joshi, the toughest Rhino, in the D-zone resulted in a PENALTY for the Devils. It was just before 60 second of the final whistle. Rhinos were exhausted. All hopes were dangling in front Pramod (Rhino) now. Pramod was in front of the same person, taking the penalty shot, who had scored the first goal against him.
In spite of a very good effort, diving toward the goal shot, Pramod was not able to stop the power full penalty shot resulting in a 2-1 lead to the Devils. Seconds after the penalty shot, the final whistle was blown. The match ended in a 2-1 score with the Devils winning.
Although it was a lose to the Rhinos, Devils also appreciated the game that Rhinos had played. It was a WIN to the Rhinos as well with such a fantastic game against the Devils.
