A spectacular free-kick from Pratik at injury time saved the day for the bigfoots as the home side struggled to gain foothold on the sturdy midfield of the visitors. The pirates controlled the game from the start and took the lead after a surge from Vinay from right side found Rajiv unmarked at the far post whose cross shot from close range beat the bigfoot’s keeper. However, a solo run from Roshan equalized for the bigfoots within 4 minutes. The bigfoots forward collected the ball from just inside the visitor’s half and ran past several defenders before slotting calmly past the keeper with outside of the boot.
It was the same story in the second half as visitors controlled passing at midfield kept QA at their own half for most of the time. It was not long before the pirates took the lead, this time from a corner. The QA defense failed to clear the corner from Sajan and Bhabuk latched in from just outside the 6 yards area. The bigfoots pressed forward in search of the equalizer but failed to create any clear-cut chances creating huge gaps in the defense. However, both the sides were fairly quite before the long-range free kick from Pratik beat the keeper from almost 50 yards and creeped into the top left corner of the post.
