It was another emphatic victory for D2 as they came out 4-1 winner against the much improved Global Bank team in a friendly match played Saturday at Buddhi Bikas Mandal. After a series of frendlies, the Global Bank was much sharp and confident coming into the match. But the defense took too much time to settle down and D2 took full advantage of this lapse of concentration with 3 goals inside the first 10 minutes. The first one came from a set-piece as the corner from Vinay was not cleared properly and the ball fell to Pragya who hooked it past the keeper. Soon after the restart Prashanta, playing from left side, managed to run clear and was given too much space as his angled shot eluded the keeper into the top right corner. Within 10 minutes, D2 made it 3-0 with a fine strike from Vinay.
Despite the early setback, Global Bank slowly started to build possession and pressurize D2. It needed some desperate defending from D2 and a goal-line clearance from Pragya to keep the score 3-0. The pressure paid-off as Global bank managed to pull one back in the 25th minute. However, in spite of the possession, Global Bank could not find another goal and Bhabuk, coming in as a substitute, made it 4-1 after a swift counterattack in dying moments of the game.
