The executive committee for the Corporate Activity Club (CAC) for the year 2014 was formed in the first week of January 2014. The goals of the club are to organize recreational activities for the employees of Deerwalk as a departure from the monotony of everyday routine. It also helps foster a sense of intimacy and camaraderie across cross-functional teams. CAC is proud to have successfully completed a number of events in the year 2014.

Deerwalk Carrom Tournament 2014 was held during the months of March and April. There were a lot of eager participants for the event and after a series of closely fought contests the team of Niraj Thapa and Mani Raj Gole was the winner while the team of Suresh Maharjan and Dinesh Gautam was the runner-up. Deerwalk Picnic 2014 was the first Deerwalk picnic organized by CAC on April 27, 2014. All the employees had a good time on this warm spring day. A number of team building games and musical performances were also organized during this event. (Click here for more details).

FIFA World Cup Prediction 2014 was a unique event organized by CAC. It involved making predictions for each game held during the World Cup 2014 Finals. Our in-house developers created a web application for predictions where each participant would earn some points if their predictions matched. After the finals, Bikram Lal Shrestha was declared the winner.

Deerwalk Blood Donation Program 2014 was another first event organized by CAC in association with Social Services Club (SSC) of Deerwalk Institute of Technology (DWIT) and Nepal Red Cross Society on June 6, 2014. The event was sponsored by Deerwalk Social Welfare Network (DWSWN). There were a lot of eager donors at the event who helped us achieve a projected target of 75 donors at the four hour long event. Deerwalk Futsal Tournament 2014 was the second futsal tournament organized in Deerwalk through the months of July and August 2014. It was the first time that the event was organized for the girls. The champion the team ‘QA Ninjas [A] Kōga’ in the Men’s category and the team ‘Powerpuff Girls’ in the Women’s category. (Click here for more details).

In addition to the aforementioned events, CAC is also responsible for coordinating weekly weekend hikes for various teams at Deerwalk. CAC also organized a string of team building games during the year 2014 such as Treasure Hunt (January), Human Knot (February), Magic Carpet (March), Triple Leg Race & Tug of War (during the Picnic) and Drama using Props (May).

It was a very eventful year and we were busy throughout the year organizing and planning for a variety of activities. We would like to thank all the participants, volunteers and staff who helped us conduct these events successfully. We hope that this trend will continue into the future as CAC organizes more exciting events and we expect a larger number of partakers at each event.
