The Digital Media Team and DWIT News Team planned for a one night, two days outing to Tistung Nepal. All members were eagerly waiting for the day to finally pack their bags and get on the road. After an anticipated wait, the day to leave for the outing finally arrived.
On Saturday, November 9, 2019, Deerwalk Services Pvt. Ltd. organized its annual picnic at Godavari Village Resort. It was a misty Saturday morning at the height of autumn, and as the Deerwalk shuttles lumbered up a worn-out Godavari street, all of us were already giddy with the prospect of the upcoming excitement. When we reached the venue, a mild sun had risen, and the mist was already fading away. A bunch of outdoor patio umbrellas with tables and chairs spread along with the lawn. A buffet table was also laid out in one corner. We kicked off the most-awaited moment with a small but mouthwatering breakfast of tea/coffee, cookies, and sandwiches—ambrosia for our hungry bodies.
It was a fascinating experience from beginning till the end. It is an unusual encounter whereby one feels their body shaking but in a controlled fashion whilst listening to the instruction by the trainer. I did feel a little exhausted but could feel the lightness in my body.
Saturday, July 13, 2019, it was raining in the morning but, looking at the sky, I was hopeful that the day will be brighter and warmer as we had Senior Managers Retreat at Nagarkot. At around 1 PM, Sudeep dai called me to inform that the van was on the way to Baneshwor where I was supposed to be picked up. After 10 mins, the van arrived and the journey began.
Outing to Sukute Beach was my very first outing since I joined Digital Media Lab. I was pretty excited when I had come to know about the trip. It had been a great opportunity for me to join this trip as I got to know the team very well.
A day long tour was all we needed to re-energize all of us. So, we planned a night out on 30th March, 2019 at Heaven Hill Resort, Lapsiphedi. It was only an hour long away from hustle and bustle of city. All of us gathered at school at 3:30 PM.
It was December 2013 when I had my first 10 day Vipassana experience. It was truly awesome and helped me realize how suffered I was and how much pain my body had stored. Since then, I was into a whole day long meditation. So the email to fill up the form for one day Vipassana with Rudra dai really excited me. I filled up the form on my own will and excitement. I went to bed early that night so that i could reach on time the next day. The next day I woke up early in the morning and reached the office premises by 7:05. I met Nitish dai, Netra dai, Sanjay dai,Raksha didi, Shikshya didi, Pramod dai and many other participants. We had some good breakfast in 109 degrees restaurant which included fruits and tea.
As we entered through the gates of Deerwalk Complex, everyone seemed excited, for it was not just another day in Deerwalk. It was indeed one of the most awaited days for all Deerwalkers. After all, it was the time to show off two months of hard work- two months of juggling between work deadlines and practice, two months of dancing in the courtyard, singing in the hall, and that was all for Deerfest 2019.
Thanking the weather for being good, despite the forecast of heavy rain on 16 February, Saturday, we gathered in Deerwalk complex at 10:30 am. We all had been waiting for this day since months and were very excited. 22 people including me along with our 3 teachers, headed by bus towards our first destination, Markhu.
Buddha said, “Meditation brings wisdom; lack of meditation leaves ignorance. Know well what leads you forward and what holds you back, and choose the path that leads to wisdom.” So with this purpose we headed to our destination, Bhikkhu Sadhana Sthal located on the way to Raanibari from Mahadevbesi for our 4-days meditation retreat.
