It was a fascinating experience from beginning till the end. It is an unusual encounter whereby one feels their body shaking but in a controlled fashion whilst listening to the instruction by the trainer. I did feel a little exhausted but could feel the lightness in my body.
Saturday, July 13, 2019, it was raining in the morning but, looking at the sky, I was hopeful that the day will be brighter and warmer as we had Senior Managers Retreat at Nagarkot. At around 1 PM, Sudeep dai called me to inform that the van was on the way to Baneshwor where I was supposed to be picked up. After 10 mins, the van arrived and the journey began.
Deerwalk Services was never only just about solving Big Data problems. It has been continuously conducting many programs that gives back to the community and one such is DeerClean. About a week before, the formal process for the Deerclean of Squad D began. All employees got invitations and to put their names on the list. 29 people had their name finalised with Gaurab Manandhar as the coordinator. We all were determined to make it successful but yet wondering what and how that Saturday would unfold.
Outing to Sukute Beach was my very first outing since I joined Digital Media Lab. I was pretty excited when I had come to know about the trip. It had been a great opportunity for me to join this trip as I got to know the team very well.
At 6:30 am sharp, my alarm went off and I was like – ‘ Why should I wake up so early, that too on a weekend to clean some school? ‘. Who knew later it would turn out to be such a heartwarming event.
DEERCLEAN, a great CSR initiative conducted by Deerwalk was started one year before on May 12, 2018. Deerclean is the event where each of the squads from Deerwalk is assigned to clean one of the government schools.
Saturday 20th of April,2019, all the enthusiastic Deerwalkers of Squad B were ready for another episode of Deerclean. Deerclean is a community service campaign which is organized by Deerwalk Services with the major objective of maintaining a clean and healthy environment in educational sectors.
A day long tour was all we needed to re-energize all of us. So, we planned a night out on 30th March, 2019 at Heaven Hill Resort, Lapsiphedi. It was only an hour long away from hustle and bustle of city. All of us gathered at school at 3:30 PM.
It was December 2013 when I had my first 10 day Vipassana experience. It was truly awesome and helped me realize how suffered I was and how much pain my body had stored. Since then, I was into a whole day long meditation. So the email to fill up the form for one day Vipassana with Rudra dai really excited me. I filled up the form on my own will and excitement. I went to bed early that night so that i could reach on time the next day. The next day I woke up early in the morning and reached the office premises by 7:05. I met Nitish dai, Netra dai, Sanjay dai,Raksha didi, Shikshya didi, Pramod dai and many other participants. We had some good breakfast in 109 degrees restaurant which included fruits and tea.
As we entered through the gates of Deerwalk Complex, everyone seemed excited, for it was not just another day in Deerwalk. It was indeed one of the most awaited days for all Deerwalkers. After all, it was the time to show off two months of hard work- two months of juggling between work deadlines and practice, two months of dancing in the courtyard, singing in the hall, and that was all for Deerfest 2019.
