Every other Saturday was quite similar, sleeping upto late hours and doing nothing productive. But last Saturday 7th May 2022 was really different with lots of adventure and thrill waiting for us, we employees from Deerhold Nepal went on a hike to Baghdwar approximately 2600 meter above sea level. The plan was to gather at Deerwalk Complex early in the morning at around 6:30 AM. After gathering all the hiking members, we departed to move towards our destination by 7:00 am. Some of our colleagues joined us on the way. At 7:30 am we stopped at Budhanilkantha which is situated below the Shivapuri Hill at the northern end of the Kathmandu valley. Also got a chance to visit Budhanilkantha Temple also known as Narayanthan Temple. And we decided to have a light breakfast at a local teashop nearby the Temple. The hotel staff served us with Aalu chana, Samosa, Jerry-Swaari, and lemon tea. We were amazed by the Swaari which was famous there for breakfast. The breakfast worked as fuel to us which was definitely going to help us complete our journey.
The long-awaited outing of Class of 2021 was finally held from November 12 – 14. The trip was composed of 24 students from both the sections and 2 teachers, Nirmal Poudel sir and Samyo Hangma Rai ma’am. We began our trip by first meeting at the Deerwalk Complex on the early morning of November 12 and boarding the bus. The road-trip to the destination was made even more fun by
Every other Sunday was quite the same; waking up really late and doing nothing productive. But the last Sunday of Kartik was different. We weren’t advancedly informed that we would be going on a hike on Sunday 2078/07/28, but after we knew about it; our excitement level went so high! We were really looking forward to a hike because it was something which we hadn’t done for years due to the pandemic.
The Digital Media Team and DWIT News Team planned for a one night, two days outing to Tistung Nepal. All members were eagerly waiting for the day to finally pack their bags and get on the road. After an anticipated wait, the day to leave for the outing finally arrived.
February 29 was not only a leap year day but also an extraordinary and unforgettable day for me. I slept with a mind made of flying with the Korean Airlines (no masks and sanitizer were available because of COVID-19), and only in the morning, I found out that my flight itinerary was changed with Qatar Airways for the next day. Nonetheless, I was excited about the trip, and thanks to Deerwalk, I was being stationed at the US Office for March 2020.
It was a cold Saturday morning on November 30, 2019—the day for the Squad D DeerClean II. However, it wasn’t cold enough for the volunteers of Squad D to put the effort into Corporate Social Responsibility initiative—started last year by Deerwalk wherein a group of Deerwalkers clean a government school with the goal of providing a neat and tidy environment for the students who are in dire need.
For the Deerclean on 16th November, our destination was Adarsha Kanya Niketan Higher Secondary School, located at Mangal Bazar, Patan, Lalitpur. This was my first experience participating as a volunteer for Deerclean. We reached Mangal Bazar at around 7:00 A.M in the morning. All the required equipment like aprons, buckets, mops, brushes, brooms, gloves, and masks were brought to the school.
On Saturday, November 9, 2019, Deerwalk Services Pvt. Ltd. organized its annual picnic at Godavari Village Resort. It was a misty Saturday morning at the height of autumn, and as the Deerwalk shuttles lumbered up a worn-out Godavari street, all of us were already giddy with the prospect of the upcoming excitement. When we reached the venue, a mild sun had risen, and the mist was already fading away. A bunch of outdoor patio umbrellas with tables and chairs spread along with the lawn. A buffet table was also laid out in one corner. We kicked off the most-awaited moment with a small but mouthwatering breakfast of tea/coffee, cookies, and sandwiches—ambrosia for our hungry bodies.
On Saturday, September 21, 2019, we, the Deerwalkers of Squad C, got ready for Deerclean. Deerclean is a campaign organized by Deerwalk Services to create awareness about the importance of a clean and healthy environment. This was my first experience in participating in the Deerclean event, and I was really excited about it.
My first ever experience on Deerclean began on a fine Saturday of 7th September 2019. I am not an early bird and waking up early in the morning is a big deal for me but to my surprise, I didn’t even need an alarm to get up that day. As I got ready to leave for the event, I did not know what to expect. Little did I know that the day would turn out to be so beautiful and fulfilling.
