On Saturday, Dec 29, 2012, Thirty four of the Deerwalk employees that make up the Product Team went to Nagarkot for a team outing. Some of the guys were on their bikes. Sawan, our coordinator for the outing, had made reservation at a resort there. We were supposed to leave Deerwalk office at 11:30 am but due to some late comers we ended up leaving at 12:00 pm. I was so excited because that was my first trip since having joined the company. Some of the guy had prepared their own collection of songs for the journey, and we crossed Nagarkot while playing and singing them.

Deerwalk QA Team Outing to Sauraha
The journey began with everyone getting picked up at their respective locations before a congregation at Kalanki at 8:40 am. The team headed off from Kalanki then after, and the trip officially started. In the bus, we were singing, dancing, playing Antakshari while munching on some snacks along the way. Gangnam style was at the top of our playlist, and each and every one of the members was dancing to it. The drive was approximately 4 hours long.

Here at Deerwalk we live by the motto, GET THE SHIT DONE on time, with efficiency and of high quality; but that’s just one half of the story. The other half (the more interesting one) is that we make it our duty to take some time off for ourselves and go on team outings, which in return refuels us to get the “shit done”. On that note, on Dec 15, 2012 the Project Management (PM) Team was off to Sauraha. Sauraha is a village in Chitwan district, Nepal situated close to the Rapti River and the Chitwan National Park. Leeza, who has been with Deerwalk for more than 2 years, was leaving the company for her future endeavors; and what better way to sign off than a trip to such a beautiful place.

A day full of excitement, 9th of November, 2012…..in anticipation of fun, and apprehensions of the organizers/performers in place; Deerwalk’s Annual Festival was held at Hotel Shahanshah in the presence of our Chairman Rudra Pandey and our President Jeff Gasser accompanied by his wife Pamela.
Beyond Geeks, Deerwalk Annual Fest
The date was “11-11-11” and it became significant because of one more reason. It was the day we celebrated very first Deerwalk Annual Festival “Fallwalk”. After Ashay kick started the show, our Executive Chairman Rudra Pandey gave his presentation to all employees of Deerwalk to let everyone know where we stand right now and where we are heading in coming days. He believes success should always be measured by number. It was the day we celebrated very first Deerwalk Annual Festival “Fallwalk”.
Q2 – QA Team Building Party @Nagarkot (Paradise inn)
I was so happy because I got the chance to join the Team Building Party within some weeks at D2. Many of our team members have already departed for the destination in van but I along with some of my cluster members were going on a bike. It was so much fun in the way driving in the Spiral road of Nagarkot. As soon as we joined the team in the hotel, it was time for snacks and drinks. We all enjoyed it.
