I was very overwhelmed when I got to know about my US Visit which was scheduled for 1st of April, 2018. Almost after a week of the notice, the day finally came to visit the land of dreams accompanied by Bibek dai and Manish dai. Though flight was long and tiring, I was all excited to see the new place and was finally gonna live in the famous B1 PALACE with Dichhya di, Monika di and Anil dai for a month.
Everyone was welcoming at Lexington office. Manish dai used to take us to work everyday. Weekdays were basically work and client calls. It was totally a new experience for me to work onshore and to know the difference. We had daily client calls and standups to discuss the work. But I still had four weekends to explore and make most out of it.
First weekend was all about Boston. Manish dai took us to Harvard University, MIT and Castle Island. I was very thrilled to visit the oldest and top institution of the world. Despite the parking was full at MIT, we took two rounds around the University to take advantage of our visit.
The most unforgettable moments were from the second week where we got chance to visit Chicago. It was the time to meet all the peoples I’ve been working with and interact with them in person. I enjoyed the morning walks from Bill’s house to the train station, from Armitage station to Washington and Wales and to the office through chicago downtown. The navy pier, millennium park, willis tower and the field museum were the top places to visit in chicago. And I am glad that we made it. I am very thankful to Bill and Barbara for their warm hospitality. I never liked eggplant until I tasted it made by Bill.

We had planned a road trip to Atlantic city for the third weekend. Me along with Manish dai, Saroj dai, Kishor dai, Anil dai, Dichhya di and Monika di headed to Atlantic city wrapping up the work from friday. I got to see parts of New York city on the way. We went to see Times Square that night but other beautiful things like Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty etc. were left visiting as we had no time to stop by. Nevertheless, I sat at the window of the car and watched them on our way to Atlantic city just to capture the view with my eyes. Atlantic City is a resort city on New Jersey’s Atlantic coast that’s known for its many casinos, wide beaches and iconic Boardwalk. We got to experience the nightlife of the city.
In no time, the returning day was almost there. We had last weekend left which was very restless as there was so much to do – Shopping, packing, work wrap up and clearing the B1 apartment. But somehow we took out the time to experience 3D movie too in IMAX. Tired from the work we all headed to watch one of the biggest hit “The Avengers: Infinity War”.
Living under the same roof with the colleagues and getting to know each other despite of the similarities and differences was something new for me. I am grateful for my colleagues for sharing this time with me and creating memories that I am always gonna cherish.
