On May 7, 2017, Hiking Club organized a rafting event in Bhotekoshi. There were altogether 16 participants selected for the event. We started our journey from DWIT College at 6:30 AM. After two and a half hours of drive we reached our destination. We then crossed the Bhotekoshi River by a small raft to reach our resort.
Upon reaching the resort we had a light breakfast and then had a game of beach volleyball. After an hour of game we moved towards the rafting point which was 15 min drive away from the resort we stayed in. We put on our rafting gear, got a brief guidance from our rafting guide and then it was time to hit the water.
The recent weather condition and rainfall made the rafting much more adventurous. The fast rapids and the cold water made the event much more exciting.
Some of us even fell down from the raft but were rescued by the rescue kayak. At the end of rafting we were allowed to do cliff jump which involved jumping in the river from a rock which was almost two storeys high.

We returned to our resort at around 2:30 pm, had our lunch and headed back to Kathmandu thus concluding the event.

On May 7, 2017, Hiking Club organized a rafting event to Bhotekoshi.
16 participants were selected for the event. We started our journey from DWIT College at 6:30 AM. After two and a half hours of drive we reached our destination. The resort was across the river, which we crossed holding onto a 12 men raft.
Upon reaching the resort we had a light breakfast and then indulged ourselves in recreation activities. Everyone played bleach volleyball and enjoyed it. After an hour, we moved towards the rafting point, Khadichaur which was 15 min drive away from the resort where we had breakfast. We supported the guides to dismount the raft from buses and fetched our rafting gear. We got detailed instructions from the guide, the risks and ways to overcome them.
Finally, it was the long awaited moment. The paddles began to swing. The guide made us shout “Jay Bhotekoshi” in unison boosting our morale and starting the adventure.

Last night rainfall had made the water turbid, the tides were heavy. It made rafting much more adventurous. Facing the fast rapids and the cold water current, our heart was racing along with us. Despite holding onto the raft and following guides signals some of us still fell down the raft but were rescued by the rescue kayak. After crossing a fast tide, we were allowed to swim on the river and had some photoshoot. At the end of rafting, it was time for cliff jumping. The cliff was about 2 stories high and offered nearly 2 seconds of free fall. Holding our breath, one by one all of us jumped. Some of us were scared while some jumped twice or even thrice. The guide carried out some raft stunt and formally ended this exciting journey.
All wet from top to bottom, we returned to our resort at around 2:30 pm. We were tired and had our lunch. Then we headed back to Kathmandu thus concluding the event.
