It’s not what isn’t, it’s what you wish was that makes unhappiness. The hole, the vacuum…I think I think too much. That’s why I drink – Janis Joplin.
To me: music is my life partner of all time. I listen to almost all kinds of music, but I’m attached the most with great 70′s. I don’t like the music of these days’s hip-hops, pop, n all other.
Whenever I get bored and unhappy I turn on my pc make the volume high and play some good rocking numbers and go for a long sleep. If I’m out somewhere, at work or at gathering I would stop speaking so that I can give some time for my unhappiness inside. I think too much. May be that’s the reason people can find what I’m feeling looking at my face.
I agree with what Joplin said about unhappiness. It’s only because what we’ve wanted, what we’ve wished for. When we don’t get what we had expected makes us unhappy. Expectations always demolish us. Don’t expect anything, do the doing and believe in happening. Happening is always different from expectations and doings, so stop expecting something. We are not sure to get 100% same as we had expected; there would be some frictional loss even if we get what we expected and sometimes just the opposite.
If you’ve loved someone truly you would expect the same in return. When it turns out the opposite you become unhappy, start thinking a lot, look at the past days, past conversations and get even more stressed. Some do even terrible things. I suggest you if you ever get into such circumstances then try to let it be; life goes on. There might be something and someone better for you. Don’t look back. “Go for the moon. If you don’t get it, you’ll still be heading for a star”. Don’t feel unhappy in your life ever; try to find the alternatives what makes you happy.
Thank you for some other wonderful post. The place else could anybody get that type of info in such a perfect way of writing? I have a presentation next week, and I’m on the search for such info.

Happiness and unhappiness is the part of our life. U cann’t feel the happiness until u experience the unhappy moments. There\’s no way to escape from unhappiness rather than accept. So what i think is better to accept whatever comes in life coz nothing lasts forever.
@Smell Rat: Seem like u r here to drop nonsense comments and assume that U r the smartest. If you have enough gut to face logic to your comments try commenting under ur real NAME. Otherwise please don’t bother to surf EU. Definitely EU blog is not for sick minded CHICKEN HEART like you.
Sorry fellow EU bloggers, for being bit harsh here.
Hello D2 People, what is in this little write-up? Why are you all pouring comments here? Yo Ravi Moro le ke garchha kunni? Lekchne belama dui char line Jhar Pat lekhchha, comments chahin oirinchha. I smell rat here.
“Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out of it alive anyway.” 🙂
Thank you all for ur comments
Keep on smiling and be happy all the time ..
🙂
i wonder why do we become arrogant when our expectation is not fulfilled… ❓
thats god of love making not god of love 😆
its never too late to make a new start……………..
great expectations lead to greater disappointments so bhai kei expect nagarnu and there are ample ways to be happy/happier
Dear Dhilung,
For lovers, there is God of Love (Kamdev, Rati) already provisioned by the higher authorities.
So all you lovers out there in D2 – please worship God of Love before coming to work.
All others – go chase your own God of Happiness.
I guess it was just a week ago or so, I was talking to a fren of mine… why there is no ‘god of happiness’ while we have god of power, prosperity and knowledge? Afte all, which ever road we take, our ultimate goal is to ‘be happy’ contained and satisfied. I want my shortcut.. i want my god of happiness 🙂
If there is a policitian in you u’ll be happy with power, if there is a businessman in you u’ll be happy with prosperity and if there is a scientist in you knowledge will make you happy. May be i’ve generalized here too much but things r something like that.
But what if there is an artist in you? What really makes an artist happy?? … I found my answer.. it’s merely his/her creations! So my search for the ‘god of happniess’ ended.. that’s my creations!
If you r a musician listen to your music, if u r a writter – read and re-read ur writeups, if u are a poet touch your poems and if u r a lover (sorry i believe lovers are artists of a kind) feel ur better half (thats none other than YOUR creation, buddy!)… u’ll instantly find ur happiness.
and ya Ravi, we shudnt let ourselves entangled in the chain of expectations if we really want to be happy. Very true!
Getting rid of expectations takes a lifetime of disciplined living and experience!
The result of desire is to expect something … we have so many desires (knowingly and unknowingly) …
Ravi – just think about this – if you had gotten your object of desire (whatever that got you tangled up in blue), would it have reduced any desire or your desires would have multiplied?
…
Born in lust turn to dust … was a line in some Stephen King novel.
When can we expect another poem from you?
Waiting.
nice one! When I’ve gone through the article, a line came across on my mindwhich i read in a newspaper article…
-“Unreasonable demands and unrealistic expectations create unhappiness”
just shared this one, considering abt “expectation”. 🙂
“Expectations always demolish us. Don’t expect anything, do the doing and believe in happening. Happening is always different from expectations and doings, so stop expecting something.”
“It’s not what isn’t, it’s what you wish was that makes unhappiness. The hole, the vacuum…I think I think too much. That’s why I drink – Janis Joplin.”
Expect =to look forward to; regard as likely to happen
Wish=to want; desire
How the word Expectation = Wish?
I think writer mixed the words “Expect” and “Wish”
Nice one RAVI – “Karma garnu fal ko asha na rakhnu”: this is what you want to express with your article. I really like your feeling this time.
“Go for the moon. If you don’t get it, you’ll still be heading for a star” 🙂
ah….many comments…again late….
happiness is relative…..
ohhh….. theory of relativity for happinesss 😀
…..
be happy now…if u are happy today then u will be happy tomorrow but if u are not happy today then u will not be happy tomorrow.. coz tomorrow is going to be today after sometime……so be happy for whatever u have now…
simple formula to be happy “whatever happens happens for gud…” 😀
u’r only foolin u’rself if u find greater pleasures in the night lights of the city than the twinlking of the stars … no offense though
Cheers!
you r only fooling urself
Nice start with the lovely quote : “It’s not what isn’t, it’s what you wish was that makes unhappiness. The hole, the vacuum…I think I think too much. That’s why I drink – Janis Joplin.”
..
& life goes on.. u gotta keep it rolling, and of course don’t forget the music part (thats the best thing we can have).
@ Awsiv : bravo
i don’t know why .. but everytime i read ur articles and comments i get no words to reply for u.. u make me satisfied all the time. Great poem dude ..
thanks for ur admiration
“what is it that keeps us awake
all night with troubles
circilin inside our head”
is really touching one ..
Life is a dhumba.. No matter what there is always some dissatisfaction… So learn to satisfy urself in your dissatisfaction… Happiness will follow..
@ Neeraj Dhungana : hey niraj dai I’m not dissappointed BTW and thanks for sharing ur feelings there. 😀
@ Nemesis : i should take ur comments into consideration… in fact everyone should .. haina ta dhumba .. 😉
damn gud thoughts Ravi!
what makes us happy,
what makes us sad,
things that people don’t like
are they really dat bad?
what makes us lose
the things we had
and still give the courage to
wear a smile on our face
what is it that keeps us awake
all night with troubles
circilin inside our head
if we try to think and collect all da reasons
it will amount to nothin
but da things we’ve created,
from our expectations and rules.
things as simple as
the shadow,
of someone’s presence
is pleasant…
cheers man! and thumbs up for startin u’r writeup wit wat Janis said! she’s one of my all time fav..
“I think I could turn and live with the animals, they are so placid and
self-contain’d,
I stand and look at them long and long.
They do not sweat and whine about their condition…” —from “Song of Myself” by Walt Whitman
… to complain is the worst thing to do!
Thinking is good for all but thinking unnecessary things are always not good.. Besides take only one thing at a time.. To much of load will definitely drive you crazy… It’s a feature of mind that the brain flushes almost everything as soon as the thing enters your brain.. That’s why you can’t remember most of the things.. If the brain is unable to do that then my friend you’ll be insane in a day…
So same funda is to be replicated… Flush everything out … and take one thing at a time..
Noone can stop expecting and its natural that you feel unhappy when its not upto your expectations..But one should not stick to that unhappines…this is how life goes on….. Ending was good Ravi 😀
Hey, Ravi Bro ! Why disappointed man? I got your pain bcoz i had also experienced that before. So be positive and be sure that if u missed something that means u r going to have better than that. Be optimistic which is the fuel for happy life.
i would say b +ve
bindu didi that is the main problem, we expect beyond limitation all the time which is the root cause of unhappiness
True thought about life, but I can’t stop expecting things to happen. Even u should expect up to some extent, but not beyond limitation that u get stressed when not fulfilled.
Yeah indeed true….Life is a roller coaster so whatever happens there is no looking back bro…
Life goes on… coz you have to, there’s no other way. Either you gonna ruin or do best… So obvious thing is will look for the best… but from the inside of your heart that will still be waiting for the positive no matter what… it’s ture, you have to happy… coz there are many ups n downs in the life and this is what we called life…
Cheers!
BABU aba ta sochna chodi deau, ani life ho naya naya story lekhdai janu parcha; some of them gives u pleasure and excitement and some are bakwas.
its true but its hard for human beings to leave expectation.. when u will leave expectation you will start leaving society what budhh and other such spirit did..
very true… life goes on. gotta move on.
