I felt lucky and overwhelmed when I was told that my flight has been confirmed for USA on 30th May, 2018. I along with my colleagues Pratik and Barsesh had only few days to prepare for this trip. We flew from Kathmandu airport to Boston via Abu Dhabi. We took taxi from Logan airport to Deerwalk Lexington office where Sushant and Abanish were waiting for us. Sushant dropped me to Rebecca’s place which was my accommodation for few days.

The following day was my first day at Deerwalk office, I was nervous but was looking forward to meet the onshore deerwalkers. Even though most of them were new to me, they were very helpful and had welcoming nature. It was Friday so, my friend from school Mansha came to pick me up for weekend fun. Unlimited talks , laughs and one other’s secret sharing continued till late in the evening as we were meeting after long time. Mansha and Nirmal took me around Boston for the weekend which was delightful.

Weekdays used to be very busy due to daily client meetings and short deadlines. Even though there was work pressure, I managed to enjoy my time in USA during weekends.

I went to New York with my cousins Garima and Prarthana whom I was meeting after long 8 years. I also made new friend Tanvi who was my cousins close friend. We four girls, visited popular places of New York among which Times square and Central Park were my favorites. I also visited Madame tussauds which had many popular stars from Bollywood and Hollywood. We clicked hundreds of pictures there and rushed back to Boston on Sunday evening.

As I was staying with Mukta and family, I took tour of various places around New Hampshire like Hampton Beach, Merrimack outlets, Malls etc with them. The distance between her house and office was quite long but we used to have good times on the way. With Some fun talks and giggles we got to know each other well in short time and they felt like my family whom I know from long. Her son, Saraaj treated me as his friend. I used to cycle, play Beyblade along with him which used to make both of us happy.

I travelled to Vermont, beautiful state full of greenery where my cousin stayed. I got chance to climb Mt. Washington, gaze Flume George along with my cousins and friends. My weekends were enjoyable and full of memories because of my cousins. I used to look forward for weekends which I spent the most with them. Late night movies, chitchats, getting dressed, trying various cuisine and some spicy foods along with them were really special. One of the highlights of my US trip was Ed Sheeran concert, open stadium concert full of crowd and good music made it phenomenal.

It was September and was last month of my stay so, I managed to see my extended family in Los Angeles, California. I was very happy to meet them after years and had great family time. I visited popular places like Hollywood sign, Beverly hills, Hollywood Walk of fame and tried various rides at Knotts Berry farm etc.

I got to celebrate nepali festival Teej with ladies of deerwalk. Teej party by Muna was fun, full of nepali women which made me feel like i was in Nepal. I would like to thank Muna, Mukta and family, Smriti and family, Rebika/Pravash, Sagar/Anita, Suresh and family, Bipul/Rosina, Namita, Kishor, Saroj, Manish,Jaya for delicious lunch/dinner. My special thanks to Mukta for showering me with love and care like a family member. I cannot stop myself from thanking Garima, Prarthana, Tanvi, Mansha, Nirmal, Pankaj and family for taking out time from their busy schedule for making my stay worthwhile.

I landed back home on 1st of October 2018 with mind full of memories.Lastly, I am very grateful to Deerwalk for providing me this opportunity which helped me grow both personally and professionally.
